Document Summary
Introductory question to the class: what do you know about equine reproduction: responses from the class, the equine reproductive system is different than the one of any other species. Within the herd (and the same geographical area), one stallion will live with multiple mares. It is a group effort to care for the foal"s well-being: although there is a hierarchy in horses, the hierarchy is between two horses and is not static. What may appear to be the lead mare, is not always the lead mare. And what appears to be the horse on the bottom of the pecking order is not always at the bottom.
