Description
 Bandura, children are actively trying to understand what goes on in their world  If person is smart, popular or talented, children and adults will copy their traits (celebrities have a responsibility because they are in the public eye)  When we chose to have certain behaviors, there are consequences in all contexts  Self efficacy- influences our abilities in whether or not we can imitate, as we experience things in our world, we can determine what we will imitate  If you don’t believe you can do it, you’re not going to try and imitate the behavior  Children are actively thinking about their interactions and environment, they do not blindly imitate behavior, they are making choices  Our active and conscious choices will influence our behavior and how we grow  If a child is a problem child or if they don’t comply, Brofenbrenner believes that it is a result of our environment and the way our family influences us  He believes that we live in a environment is like a onion with different layers  Microsystem- people and things that are closest to them (family, playgrounds, friends, daycare) can have more than one microsystem (family, daycare)  Mesosystem- what connects your microsystems, what happens in one affects the other one (eg. If you have a bad day at work, it will effect your family life)  Exosystem- a indirect experience that still influences your life (ex. your mothers work environment, this affects the child because she might have to work long hours and not be able
