Most important agencies involved in internaional food standards are the food and agriculture. Measures (sps) and agreement on technical barriers to trade (tbt) Canadian food producion & industry is regulated at the federal, provincial & local levels. Ontario has 5 ministries involved (most notably omaf) while newfoundland has no provincial food inspecion system. Agriculture and agri-food canada (aafc) supplies the majority of cfia inspectors, provides research & support programs related to agriculture, rural development & export market development.
