General adaptation syndrome (developed by selye): discovered that our bodies constantly strive to maintain a stable and consistent physiological state homeostasis. Developed by richard lazarus and susan folkman. Looks at the relation between stress and health. Lazarus: stress is neither an environmental stimulus, a characteristic of the person, nor a response, but a relationship between demands and the power to deal with them without unreasonable or destructive costs.
