Learning the norm and not changing it (ie gender pronouns) Theories can change, be tossed aside, used as a guideline, etc. For example, social constructionism and essentialism are now being seen more as able to mesh. Example- first date: certain things you talk about, certain things you don"t talk about, kiss as he walks you to the door. Different people with different experiences following the same script allows for a level of stability.
