Research paper = make argument & support w evidence. Lit review = summarize & synthesize arguments of others. Context reviews place specific project in the big picture. Historical reviews trace devt of an issue over time. Methodological reviews point out how methodology varies by study. Theoretical reviews compare how diff theories address an issue. Integrative reviews summarize what is known at a point in time. A good lit review communicates a sense of purpose through its organization: do not summarize one reference at a time (cut n paste from annotation, do organize points along themes, findings, arguments, issues most relevant. Deductive (top-down, test h0 via empirical data) Data collected via structured survey & observations. Data analysis is statistical (uni-, bi-, multi- variate)
