Countries capable of exploiting such markets grow the fastest - they remove the need for europe for their advancement. New imports, new territories (coffee became a national british drink, the material became much easier to import and was no longer something only for the rich) Learned that the world is a natural system, governed by natural laws regardless of men. Results in a major loss of con dence in the dogma of religious beliefs/teachings. Intellectual importance began to trump one"s name and where they were born. A few despots work to become a popular gure by giving the common folk breadcrums to protect their own power. They become religiously tolerant, patrons of the arts, etc. Land therefore becomes immensely more valuable and therefore expensive.
