Mongolia and tibet considered vassal states that had their foreign policy and relations controlled by the qing but they had a great deal of independence internally until the late. Mongolia and tibet are tied together by religion, namely buddhism. Both became states with highly religious orders. Sometimes called high asia, or the last place on earth by explorers. Today it is one of the few places that are not till part of china but was once ruled by the qing dynasty (although inner mongolia is still part of china today) Population today is very diverse and many different religions exist.
