Hardly seen now, used in the past for pulling wagons. Breeds true to size (actually a type in those area) Us registry in 1958, canadian in 1974. Docility selected, this may have been one of the reasons to have spots showing. Male = jack or gelding (jack foal) Female = jenny or jennet (jenny foal) All donkeys have a dorsal stripe with a shoulder strip (donkey cross) Maintained from wild type, and with other donkeys. White to black (lot of colour variation) Most predators that prey mammals have evolved to not see colour (they see black, white, shades) Can train they for young kids to ride them up to 100 lb. Goes with other horses and livestocks before show to calm them down. Personality / gender / ratio / size. Donkey is not protecting anything, they just don"t want anything around them.
