Practices and beliefs that imbued their suffering with meaning and purpose: consist primarily of black religious and civic institutions that sustained familial and communal networks of support these worked, until the 1970s. Cultural appropriation is when a member of one (typically dominant) culture copies or adopts practices of another (typically not dominant) culture, irrespective of the cultural context of those practices. Examples of cultural appropriation include dreadlocks, halloween costumes depicting other cultures, or the use of certain words like powwow . Some forms of western yoga qualify as cultural appropriation there are many spiritual and religious connotations to yoga, but these elements are often mistreated, given some mystical significance, or ignored.
