Received intensive assistance at a diagnostic centre provided by his school district up to grade. The law is still very discriminatory to those with disabilities. Complaint of discrimination under bc"s human rights code. Tribunal found moore was discriminated against in the provision of services. Province and school district were systematically discriminating against students with severe learning disabilities. People are treated as second class citizens by the government, they aren"t listened to. Even if there was a number of them, they still wouldn"t get heard. Student"s treatment should be compared to other special needs students, rather than to the general school population. Now there is more systematic discrimination, it"s like segregation all over again. This court decision reinforced all the stereotypes about people with disabilities. Via rail is also an example of this, they didn"t want to put something in place for disabled people because they weren"t making any profit.
