Measure with high consistency the answers should converge on the variable you are trying to measure. The degree to which an instrument or procedure actually claims to measure. Construct validity: the extent to which the iv s and the dvs in a study truly represent the abstract concept of interests to the researcher. Often assessed in terms of convergent discriminant validity. Generalizability: the degree to which one set of results can be applied to other induviduals, events or situation.
