Drive motivational construct associate with maintenance of the homeostatic balance of an organism the need induces a motivational state: the drive energizes behaviours to reduce the need state and therefore reduces drive. Hull"s model of behaviour is mechanistic and based on homeostatic drive reduction. Habits (stimulus-response associations) become stronger as a function of how often they are followed by satisfying events the reduction of a drive is satisfying. When you learn a set of behaviours you are satisied. Learned/repeated link between stimulus and response = habit: will be intensiied as long as it is followed by satisfaction. Need drive response satisfaction . Drive is a general pool of energy that can activate innate and learned behaviours. Several sources but drive itself is nonspeciic and nondirective. Sd = stimulus drive direct your body to a certain stimulus to satisfy drive.
