Pan retinal photocoagulation: deliberately burn bits of the retina so there is not so much blood demand, macular degeneration. Causes you to unable to see the thing you most want to see. Get little yellow lumps (drusen) growing between the epithelium and cones. Pushes cones away from the choroid (source of nourishment) and pigment epithelium so they die. Solution: laser photo coagulation, nutrition treatments, cone dystrophy (rare disorder) Progressive change that results or poorly nourished sells or tissues. Body doesn"t produce a certain protein resulting in a loss of cones.
