Frontal lobe: ceo, executive functioning deficits: ex. Adhd: plays a huge role at inhibiting out behavioral. Cerebral lateralization: two hemispheres: two halves are similar but not exactly alike, left side of brain controls right side of body. Speech, hearing, verbal memory, expression of positive emotions etc: right side of brain controls left side of body. Touch sensations, non-realistic sounds (music), and negative emotions etc: corpus collosum: integrates both sides of the brain. Two sides are integrated and work together. One side will compensate for the other for similar functions this happens when there is brain damage to a specific part of the brain and other brain areas need to take over. Strength of influence of right/ left side of the brain starts prenatally and by age 2. Cephalocaudal and proximodistal patterns: babies develop from the head down and from the inside outwards.
