Sex difference: any biological difference between men and women on any given outcome (i. e. can be anything aspects of personality, suicide etc. ) Gender: what is socially expected in respect to being masculine/feminine. Gender stereotypes: extent to which they differ (actual difference vs. magnitude of difference?) Effect size calculating size of (sex) differences. Effect size (d) difference in standard deviation units: different kinds just need to know what it means, considers multiple different studies and differences in respect to a given scale. Effect sizes: +/- 0. 20 = small, +/- 0. 50 - medium, +/- 0. 80 = large. On average the effect size is 2. 00 meaning men throw farther than women.
