PSYC 3270 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Gyrus, Receptive Field, Street Light
Document Summary
Spatial selective attention selecting parts of the environment to focus on (i. e. how you chose to process things in space) Feature: attention to colour/shapes, whatever you select in the environment to focus on, you will partake in deeper processing other information that could be missed, what (cid:449)e"re looking for compared to spatial attention where we were looking. Older standard way of reporting data report the spatial coordinates, and indicated what slice of the brain/where you"re looking at. Extent to which brain regions were more activated, they"re in colour. Lingual gyrus (shape) only shape not velocity or colour. Medial temporal area velocity over divided but for shape not colour: mst (perceptual regions for motion, also gets activated when you pay attention to motion/moving stimuli. Dorsal lateral occipital colour perception: more active under colour condition and no increased activity under shape or velocity, shows selective processing for colour attending to colour increases activity.
