Politics and psychology: political psychology (as a career), interdisciplinary field that aims to understand political behaviours and apply knowledge to change, the good, the bad , rewarding to work to understand the hallmark of our society; also means being able to accept that the system is not perfect and stay motivated, and the ugly: persuasion psychology as a political tool, the use to fear and threat as tool to shape people"s beliefs and attitudes, ethnically very controversial because the intent is to use an emotional response to get people to act or think in a way that otherwise they would not. What is the self in psychology: how we perceive ourselves, assumed to be the master filter through which we perceive the world, the self concept is implicated in, directing what information we should attend to, the kinds of meaning that we draw from events, the kinds of relationships that we have, our emotions & motivations.
