She wants us to understand the people she"s talking about by explaining the context of how people view themselves in japan- then how this relates to work. Looks at japan in a global context, foraging a national identity, having their own industrial revolution. Countries are always interdependent (since we"ve been pedal our species has always been involved in trade, however the amount has obviously increased as technology has) Sets out to dispel certain stereotypes about japanese work, most of the studies and ideas were based on white collar men and large businesses.
