Culture shock are: personal disorientation when experiencing an unfamiliar way of life because of: Move between social environments: no way of life is natural to humanity, but most people around the world view their own behaviour in that way. Anything that carries a particular meaning recognized by people who share a culture. Eg: buying anything from tiffany"s jewellery, then when you walk around with the bag you feel special/important because people can see what you bought. People treat you differently based on symbols we surround ourselves with. Societies create new symbols all the time: language. A system of symbols that allows people to communicate with one another. Cultural transmission: the process by which one generation passes culture to the next. Pass on good and bad aspects of the current culture to the next generation: unfortunately racism gets passed on between generations.
