Society: ppl who interact in a defended territory and share culture. Anything that carries a particular meaning recognized by ppl who shae culture. Ppl must be mindful that meanings vary from culture to culture and even vary w/in the same groups of ppl. A system of symbols that allows ppl to communicate w/ one other.
