They learn these different criminal skill sets in order to become deviant. A person becomes delinquent because of an access of definitions that are about breaking the law. It is a learned behaviour, you learn the code of the streets. They learn the criminal attitude and skill sets to participate in this deviant behaviour. Drift theory: that individuals are not delinquent 24/7; there are some times when these youths can be really decent individuals. Drift between the conventional lifestyle and their deviant lifestyle. Routine activity theory: that criminals are rational they way the risks and benefits there are three elements: motivated offender, suitable target and absence of a capable guardian.
