Claim to have evidence they don"t have in order to get you to speak up. Not having a lawyer is a hit to people"s rights. Police skilled at lying and weighing people down. Do whatever it takes in order to get a confession: wrongful convictions confessions can lead to wrongful convictions. Wrongly convicted on false confessions happen all the time: defence lawyers right to counsel helps people when they are most vulnerable. It removes more rights from the accused and doesn"t allow a free way to administer justice. Holding people hostage: police power powers increase. Shift powers to the state instead of the person.
