Dispersion: how organisms are distributed across space. Habitat selecion: choosing a place to live. Home range: the area an animal occupies. Territory: an area an animal uses to defend from intruders. Density dependent itness and dispersion b1 = higher quality habitat b2 = lower quality habitat. Every ime you add an individual, the mean itness of the group declines. Animals should occupy areas in proporion to the availability of resources. Mean itness is equal resuling in diferent densiies in habitats. Assumpions: individuals have equal compeiive ability, cannot exclude others from a habitat, individuals are free to move wherever they like, have perfect knowledge of the relaive habitat values. Predicions: individuals occupying diferent habitats have equal compeiive ability, at any given density, individuals have equal itness across habitats. In some cases, could be an adapive strategy (trade-of between acquiring low-quality territory vs being a loater)
