G1 phase: intense activity, size x2, more organelles: g1 check point (checkpoints: periods where if there is damage or issue cell will not continue cycle (enter g0 stage dormancy) (g0: resting stage of dormant initials) G2 phase: cell division structures made: g2 check point, m phase. Fyi: g0 stage clarification: g0 is a stage in which a living cell exits cell cycle. Suspended in g1, instead of entering s phase. In animals, g0 is a normal stage of most metabolically active, mature cells; often not possible to re-enter cell cycle: situation in plants cells is more complicated. Meristem initials (dividing cells that stay in meristem) enter a true g0 stage when meristem is inactive/dormant, from which they re-enter cycle in response to stimuli.
