Document Summary
Why do we study family: to investigate social trends, to understand the diversity of families, to influence societies public policy. Divorce= when the divorce law changed we saw a rise of divorces. We study social trends to understand things like what contributed to this increase, what impact divorce has on children and what management styles may lead to a rise in divorce. Research in this field can have a powerful influence on public policy. Family management principles= balance and handling of one"s available resource and opportunities. Exploration of how they cause and handle change. Choices of how they spend time or money. How you use your available resources to achieve your desired goals. Action must be taken to reach your goals they will not just happen by themselves. Identify a need, a want, a goal or a problem. A want is something that would be nice to have but not necessary for survival.
