Circulatory system: composed of: cardiovascular system (heart, blood, blood vessels, lymphatic system (lymphatic vessels and lymph fluid) Erythrocytes: rbc"s, biconcave discs w/ no nucleus, contain haemoglobin for oxygen transport, most numerous blood cell, originates from the bone marrow, lives up to 120 days. Leukocytes: wbc"s, nucleated cells that cal leave blood vessels to help the body ght infection. Make up less than 1% of blood cells, originate in red bone marrow, can live up to hours to years. Thrombocytes: fragments of cells with no nucleus, contain cytoplasmic granules, involved in blood clotting, originate in red marrow and live up to a few days. Diapedesis: cells leaving blood vessels to enter body tissues. Cardiovascular system: system that distributes critical cargo throughout the body such as oxygen, nutrients and waste. Blood: specialized connective tissue made up of ground substances and formed elements.
