The gods: the olympians (typically 12 of them, really 14 but 12 became standardized, offspring of rhea and cronus (the older generation) Hestia (vesta in roman terms, first offspring: goddess of heart, important/highly respected in religion, but not so big in mythology. Hades (pluto: ruler/god of underworld and shared the land, but zeus would have advantage because he is above it. He"s well respected and he barely comes up. Is not that popular besides for the story where he drags persephone down to underworld to be his wife. Associated with horse, ruler of the sea, highly unpredictable and easily angered. Also known as earth shaker because he is the main cause of earthquakes. Portrayed as a male with beard, but is differentiated from zeus and hades because of the trident. Also found to in carriage holding his trident. Demeter (ceres) female deity, human fertility goddess of grains and agriculture.
