Genitals of the birth mid eastern (earlier idea: two goddesses, aphrodite pandemos, aphrodite urania. Suggests that there were actually two aphrodites (proposed by plato) Had one of his characters put forth this idea. Aphrodite was worshipped in diferent temples by those two diferent names -> encouraged there were more than one aphrodite. Urania heavenly aphrodite inluenced by the eastern idea of the goddess of love (queen of heaven) Spiritual, intellectual love according from hesiod"s version (aphrodite from the genital of ouranos) Higher form of love (only toward the male, not toward a young boy but towards an older male) the virtue is embodied to the person you love.
