Canadian charter of rights and freedoms: secion 8: search and seizure. If police come to your house, you"re allowed to say no to them entering. If evidence isn"t collected lawfully, evidence is inadmissible. Ex: guy brought car to school and it was unlocked. He went inside and came back and the rile and ammo was gone. Have suspicion that this 16 yr old boy took it. Ask mom if they can come into house and she says yes. Come back another day and ask to come in, mom says no, but they sill charge son and kick mom out and search house again. Police appealed case on the amount of damages. Cannot detain you if you are not charged with a crime. Ex: guy is ofered a lot of money to drop of package. He gets charged and people behind it get charged.
