Emoji: a small image used to express or illustrate ideas, emotions, actions, or tone in electronic communication. Sternbergh - emoji are a secret code language made up of symbols that everyone already intuitively understands. A pictorial language system standardized by unicode. Unicode: an international encoding standard for use with different languages and scripts, by which each letter, digit, or symbol is assigned a unique numeric value that applies across different platforms and programs. Pictograms: pictures of actual things, like a dating of the sun. Logograms: symbols that stand in for a word (ex. Ideograms: pictures or symbols that represent an idea or abstract concept. Elasticity of emoji: the emojis are easily recognizable but their interpreted meaning always changes. Emojis have different intended meanings by the emoji council then how we use them. Emoticon: a typographic display of a facial representation, used to convey emotion in a text medium only.
