The next emperor nero constructed one of his most famous buildings that still survives in sections in rome. The famous story is there is a big fire that may have been started by nero. Nero introduced fire safety legislation that never existed before. As the fire spread it opened up the possibilities for construction. The most famous of which in an area that was particularly damaged. Nero takes all of the land and makes it an imperial land holding, expanding the palace, renovating and it becomes to be known as the golden house of. Nero, puts in an artificial lake, builds a massive park and it is probably in this area that he erected a giant statue of himself. What happens is that after nero is assasinated, the next group of emperors comes along and reclaims the land for the roman people.
