End of 19th century brought sporting events, department stores, travel agents, roller skating craze rise of european society. Ww1 brought real conflict on consciousness for western europe, europe loses its reputation. Said germany was responsible for the war and were morally responsible not true since all countries had a stake in the war. Many german officials wanted to keep fighting but the german war marshall says they cannot.
