Most who lived in poverty were asians: as population increased, some got out of poverty, and some got in. Growth with percent, possibility with a percentile increase. Gdp vs child survival graph: strong positive correlation, 1960- compare south korea with brazil and uganda. South korea advances rapidly, speed of development is very different: need to be healthy first to become wealthy, major differences in between countries. Why is fertility rate associated with le: education, economic status- need more children for the economy.
