Document Summary

History of legal systems: state = law + population + government. Hierarchy -> king/ruler at the top, followers who were obedient at the bottom. As society becomes more developed and complex, law becomes larger and more a part of our life to regulate it. Morality good conscience, right vs wrong > religion > culture > social norms, personal individual preference, human made?, standards and principles, applied and enforced by society. Law- universal, applies equally to everyone in a community, can affect morality (ex criminalizing something changes the morality as the act as social unacceptable), usually created from morals however there is a you must vs you should . Not everything that is illegal is immoral, not everything that is immoral is illegal. System of law remained in effect but were specifically ignored. Abuse-able laws (ex discriminatory) -> law imposed for political purposes, in a perfect world law doesn"t mix with political science.
