Now in university, many are looking for music that is more serious. Folk music slightly different meaning than folk term in the past (unprofessional, traditional etc. : new meaning, they are professionals, make living playing music. At the university age serious music was classified as either folk music or classical music. Political right gov is not heavily involved in everyday society, market should decide what prices are etc. People should take much responsibility themselves: much lower level of taxation, downside: no social safety net. Caught up with the idea of authenticity. This land is your land: (woody guthrie is written, 1940) Folk culture, portable, acoustic instruments (guitar, banjo) Huac (house un-american activities committee) and mccarthyism (1947-1956) Folk music almost got wiped out, cause most artists associated with left wing. For 5-6 years, no one listens to music.
