In class cheryl and lu shed some light on the huge diversity of issues faced by the indigenous people in canada. There was a discussion on the bullying, homelessness and destruction of culture of these individuals. Thomas king in the inconvenient indian, states that north america no longer sees indians. i in the class discussion, a focus was placed on the residential schools and the effects of the indian act. Cheryl and lu shared their families experiences; they stated how starting in the. 1800"s indigenous kids were forced into christian schooling. This was a way to assimilate these children into the larger canadian society. The result of this was bullying from generation to generation.
