If only practice-oriented, you don"t know why it works, blindly applying decisions dangerous. Practice and theory - understand why something works and doing it. I am going to be a hands-on planning professional. Without theory, you don"t really know what the experience is teaching you aim towards being a reflective practitioner. Music as an example play the guitar by knowing the notes to play. Theory is about seeing something knowing that you can generalize it. If you don"t know you"re using theory, then you might see it as a truth. When someone theorizes something, they make some sort of theoretical assumption have to try it out. Observing other people apply something theory from practice might never know if what you"re observing is broadly applicable risk of over generalizing, epistemology be aware of where our knowledge comes from.
