This week"s lectures focus on mega-projects and urban development. A mega-project is an expensive development scheme of an adjoining area, which takes many years of construction and implementation. In late capitalism, the managerialism shifted towards entrepreneurialism in the 1970s and 1980s, and it has to be examined at a number of neighbourhoods, communities, cities, metropolitan regions and nation states. Urbanization is a progress of a wide range of different objectives interacting through a certain form of interlocking special practices. China-singapore suzhou industrial park is a good example of the state collaborative development. The two governments started to c3ollaborate since 1994, the whole project lasted for ten years (1994-2004), and it boosted domestic economic growth in singapore and china. Another example of state collaboration development is the united kingdom .
