Labour markets are not produced for sale on the market: humans are not produced for sale on the market. Labour is reproduced within families: humans have agency. Labour is alive, labour is both unique and collective. No two workers are identical: labour markets are heterogeneous. Many different markets separated by jobs, gender, skills, etc. Divisions of labour: investment in human capital stays with the worker, not the employer. Labour time is spent inside a firm (hierarchical, not a market: labour power is not storable. Not a commodity that sits on a shelf: over two centuries, supply of labour has almost always been greater than demand (i. e. , unemployment has been near continual in capitalism) Have the necessary skills to find a job but you are actively seeking an employer who offers a job with the skills you have. Unemployed for some period of time because the nature of the industry you work in is seasonal.
