How do non-state actors affect international politics? (see transnational advocacy. Complex interdependence: associated with liberal theory, complex interdependence suggests that important interactions across occur not just between states, but also between firms and other firms, firms and states, firms and ngos, ngos and states, and so on. Transnational actor: any non-state actor that has relations with another actor in another country or with an international organization. (compare: transgovernmental actor: the same, except with sub-state level governmental actors, like government departments, provinces, or cities). Norm: standard of behaviour for an actor with a given identity.
