Often occurs due to damage to the right parietal and temporal regions of the brain (often resulting in a stroke) People completely ignore anything on the left side of something - won"t eat stuff on the left side of the plate, won"t draw the left side of a flower, won"t shave the left side of your face. They have no problem seeing the left side of space, they just ignore it - not purposely. Bisiach and luzzatti (1978) - piazza del duomo. Imagine yourself looking one way towards the piazza and then reverse the perspective and imagine themselves looking away from the piazza. Had to describe it in their mind.
