Comes with brain"s maturity: advances as they mature. Skills become much worse when parents are uninvolved or fighting against the process. In all parenting styles, there will be conflict: seeking independence and sense of self, might be intervening in wrong decisions being made. Arguments: freedom, curfew, choice, etc, telephone use, what"s on the cell phone, who are they talking to, internet use, etc, facebook, vaccines/health, eating habits, driving licence.
