Document Summary
The enire constellaion of factors, some inside the organism and some outside, that cause an individual to behave in a paricular way at a paricular ime. Moivaional state or drive - denote an internal condiion that orients an individual toward a speciic category of goals and that can change over ime in a reversible way. Drive in psychology are generally thought of as hypotheical constructs. Drives and incenives complement each other in control of behaviour and inluence each other"s strength, if one is weak the other has to be strong to moivate goal directed acion. A strong drive can enhance the atraciveness (incenive value) of a paricular object and vice versa. Physiological processes such as digesion and respiraion must coninually work toward achieving homeostasis. The constancy of internal condiions that the body must acively maintain. Cannon pointed out that maintaining homeostasis involves the organisms outward behaviour as well as its internal processes.
