Memory decays over time if you are going to remember something two things make it more likely to be remembered. The more it matters the more likely you are to recall it. Recall vs recognition you are going to have an easier time with. If you are to rehearse it is more likely to be recalled easily recognition than with recall. If it is there it will trigger a memory, idea or though as opposed to pulling something out of storage when you don"t have any cues telling you where to look. Retelling when you retell incidents, you become more committed to your memories. You often asked to retell as an eyewitness. When you retell it you become more confident and cemented in that memory. Double ended sword (less likely to be influenced by suggestions, if you have already been led to misinformation you will be more confident in inaccurate memories.
