Document Summary
Goldberg paradigm - hold everything constant except for gender, name, etc: done to measure the impact of a certain trait on people"s perceptions. Stereotype assume that everyone in the group has a certain set of traits or characteristics. Stereotypes: stereotypes are, descriptive describes how people are, proscriptive/prescriptive indicate how people are supposed to behave or not supposed to behave (ex. Women are supposed to behave in a certain way) There automatic connection in people"s head be will automatically activated as soon as you see relevant stimulus. Lack of fit model if the there is a male job, and female is applying, then the degree of the expectations are low for the female. If we manipulate the degree of fit, we can make or increase the amount of bias against a woman low and fit is: one way we can do this is by making a woman seem particularly feminine.
