Variance: not everyone is the same (job performance, job satisfaction) Without variance, there is no personnel psychology, or psychology, or science. Prof will often use these terms interchangeably. Student b is better than 93% of other people. Without variance, personnel psychology simply doesn"t work, but ample variance is not enough in and of itself. Correlation: 1 the list is positively sorted, 0. 7 weaker list than 1. A correlated with b does not mean a causes b.
