Non-standard work: may correspond to an employee"s life-cycle needs, combining part-time work with full-time education, devoting more time to activities outside the workplace, work can involve obligatory time that is unpaid, studying, job hunting, housework, etc. Impacting expectations and decisions around workplace organizations: more short-term, moving from town to town or job to job with relative ease. Identity formed around the varied dimensions of our creativity: more willing to let work invade leisure time, work perceived as more fun. Involves ideas: driven by choice and desire. Ideal worker seen as someone who is able to commit substantial amounts of time to job activities: work-life balance: good functioning at work and good functioning at home with a minimum of role conflict. Leisure sickness: people develop symptoms of sickness during weekends or vacations. Symptoms may be due to a low appreciation for leisure activities and typical household chores.
