Chapter 3 planning, developing and marketing a destination. Tourism facilities, sites an events do not become tourist destination areas (tdas) overnight. Planning is an essential component of profitable tourism. Tda may be that single unit or it may refer to a (cid:373)ore di(cid:448)erse produ(cid:272)t for si(cid:373)pli(cid:272)it(cid:455)(cid:859)s sake. 5 compoents of a tourist destination if the tda is to host the traveller. Must be in place if tda is to entice the midcrentric and psychocentric traveller. The allocentric , ready to give up some of life comforts just to be one of the first. Tda is even being considered: natural resources have the physical means of supporting the tourst. Needs land, habitable climte, water supply, and natural beauty to attract the tourst. All those essential services that are seen or unseen: suprastructure consist of all the buildings, found at destination. Wont attract ppl if have a low welcoming attitude. Eg newfoundland and labrador-gearing up for new tourism growth warm hospitality.
