Mcluhan said tv was the rst curriculum. most typically most people in the world tend to watch crime shows. Csi effect - the exaggerated expectations that we have for forensic science to give us irrefutable evidence to who the criminal is. This leads to jurors not knowing what justi es compelling evidence to justify conviction. takes. usually takes months not hours. Jurors expect an abundance of forensic evidence. Crime shows exaggerate the amount of resources available to crime labs. tests maybe true but they are taken to an extreme that doesn"t exist. In a ten year period in montreal there were less than 1% of cases that were hinged on forensic evidence. more likely it is spontaneous confession or eyewitness accounts. There is an increasing amount of dependence on tv to show us what routine crime is.
